Contemporary painting
a journey through subculture and society.
Painting as a living diary: paintings in which Berlin subculture meets AI revolution, combining emotional depth with social relevance. In this world of colors and shapes, you will not only witness my personal journey but also discover the focal points of our time, interpreted through the lens of figurative contemporary painting.

Contemporary Painting as a Mirror of Society
Figurative Painting: More than an Aesthetic Experience
Figurative painting goes far beyond merely applying paint to canvas. In my work, I see painting as a tool for communication, a medium to tell stories, explore emotions, and provide profound insights into the world around us. When I think of “contemporary painting,” I strive to create works that capture the essence of our time.
In the Streets of East Berlin: The Origin of My Art
My artistic journey began in the streets of East Berlin, shaped by the squatter movement. This experience taught me how communities can function beyond conventional norms and hierarchies. It was a time of upheaval, experimentation, and the coming together of people from diverse backgrounds. The raw energy and punk spirit of this movement have left a lasting impression on me and are reflected in many of my works.
Contemporary Painting: An Expression of Revolution and Tradition
Although I don’t work in an explicitly “punk” aesthetic, my artworks are deeply rooted in a time of social and cultural upheaval. They vary in their depiction – from hints of street art to more traditional forms. Each of my paintings contains elements of my story and my beliefs, packaged in the language of contemporary painting.
Art with a Mission: Social Justice and Identity
My focus is on themes such as identity, relationships, and social justice. These themes run like a red thread through my works, from nudes to vanitas paintings to depictions of shamans.
My Medium of Choice: Oil Paint in Contemporary Painting
Oil paint is my preferred medium. Its texture, depth, and vibrancy allow me to express emotions in a way that other types of paint cannot. The ability to paint in many layers gives my artworks a special intensity. My expressive painting style, often marked by impatience, reflects my urgent message to the world.
Art and AI: An Innovative Breeze in Contemporary Painting
Recently, I have expanded my figurative painting through collaboration with artificial intelligence, adding a contemporary dimension to it. Intense discussions with Large Language models like GPT-4 or Claude open new creative spaces for me. I then transform these ideas into compelling visual concepts – most often with the help of the generative AI Midjourney. This fusion of art and technology has enabled me to convey my messages in the world of contemporary painting in a current way.
Network of Inspiration: B.L.O. Ateliers and Contemporary Painting
As part of the B.L.O. Ateliers in Berlin, a vibrant artist community in East Berlin, I find an inexhaustible source of inspiration and exchange. Our bi-annual studio exhibitions are a special occasion to present my latest works in figurative painting. This community not only provides a platform for my art but also fertile ground for interdisciplinary collaborations.
Figurative Painting as Social Commentary
Ultimately, my works in contemporary painting are a mirror of both current and timeless societal issues. They are deeply rooted in debates about identity, consumerism, and capitalism. While my paintings reflect societal trends, they also always show my own independent view of the world.
