Drawing inspiration from Pandora’s myth and the rich history it embodies, my painting captures the juxtaposition between life and death, symbolized by the half-skull and the terracotta-colored skin and hair. By referencing Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux’s bust, „Why being born a slave,“ I aim to provide a thought-provoking commentary on the human condition and our struggle with both light and darkness.
